Our Story

The campaign begins here: a destroyed home, and members determined to rise again

Alissar headquarters after destruction
The place fell, but the mission did not

The wound and the witness

Hear from those who lived Alissar why it must return.

What happened to the headquarters is not a detail in the story; it is the heart of the campaign. The war did not only destroy walls. It interrupted a space that gathered children and youth around music, sports, scouting, and culture.

Here, they first learned to be citizens

Before they were musicians, athletes, or scouts, Alissar’s children and youth learned to be citizens: to meet around what they share, respect their differences, and carry responsibility for one another and their community.

Since 2004, Alissar has gathered young people in Tyre from different families, communities, and backgrounds. Inside this space, music became a shared language, sports a school of discipline, scouting a practice of service, and friendship a bridge across division.

“At Alissar, citizenship was not a theoretical lesson; it was a daily practice lived together.”

Alissar’s headquarters: a living heart of Tyre’s history, culture, and diversity

Alissar’s headquarters was never just a building. It was a living space shaped by the spirit of Tyre: sea, stone, history, and an open home for music, sports, scouting, culture, and human connection.

Generations trained there, the orchestra played there, families met there, and friendships crossed neighborhoods and communities. When the war destroyed the headquarters, Tyre’s youth lost more than walls, equipment, and instruments; they lost a safe space that gave them belonging, opportunity, and hope.

The campaign is not waiting for the destroyed building to be reconstructed. The practical step now is to rent and equip an alternative headquarters, restore life to Tyre’s young people, and open the door for a new generation.

The Spirit of Tyre

A city of sea and stone, with room for everyone

Alissar draws its colors and spirit from Tyre: the warmth of stone, the blue of the sea, the life of the port, and people bound by a shared history despite their different backgrounds.

Sea and Port

From Tyre’s sea and fishing port, Alissar draws patience, openness, and work that brings generations together.

Stone and History

Among the castle stones and ancient ruins, we preserve the memory of an old city while building a new future.

Civic Diversity

Young people from different neighborhoods and backgrounds meet around the city and the human being, not division.

Youth Who Gather

Music, sports, and scouting become a shared language that turns difference into friendship and citizenship.

Programs

Five spaces that shape a full life

We invest in the human being through connected programs that build skill, character, and citizenship.

Music

Instrument training, a youth orchestra, volunteer teachers, and public performances that gather the city around one shared language.

Sports

Football, table tennis, and physical activities that build teamwork, discipline, and self-confidence.

Scouting and Leadership

Scouting camps, community service, and practical training that shape responsible and active young people.

Culture and Civic Life

Cultural seminars, national celebrations, and artistic activities that strengthen citizenship and openness.

Heritage

Teaching civic identity and preserving the historical and cultural presence of Tyre.

Alissar Rises Again Campaign

We are restoring the space, not only the walls

Alissar’s headquarters was destroyed inside a fully collapsed building, and there is still no clear public plan or budget to rebuild the area. That is why the campaign follows an urgent and realistic path: rent an alternative headquarters in Tyre, equip it, and restart the programs.

  • Rent an alternative headquarters for the first year.
  • Set up and rehabilitate the new space.
  • Replace essential musical instruments and lost equipment.
  • Restore sports, scouting, cultural, and leadership programs.
